Payback time

After the extended break following the World Championships, I already felt much better. I was enjoying training again, despite the difficult weather conditions in Switzerland. Whether it was freezing temperatures or bad weather, I had only one goal: to get back to the top or at least where I had been before.

I arrived hungry for a result. That was something I had been missing at the World Championships. Breaking the Swiss record in the team pursuit, both in qualifying and in the first round, gave The extra boost of confidence. In the final, we were only beaten by the Danes.

I carried that momentum into the next day and became European champion in the scratch race. the greatest success of my career. The feeling was incredible, all those years of hard work had paid off for that exact moment.

The following day, I also competed in the omnium and finished with a solid 7th place.
